How to do it
- Stand with a dumbbell in each hand and hinge forward at the hips.
- Let your arms hang with a slight bend in your elbows.
- Raise the dumbbells out to the sides, squeezing your shoulder blades together.
- Lift to shoulder height, leading with your elbows.
- Lower under control without rounding your back or using momentum.
Common mistakes
- Using torso momentum to lift
- Rounding the back while hinged
- Raising with straight, locked arms
