How to do it
- Sit in the rotary torso machine, adjusting the seat and backrest.
- Secure your legs and torso under the pads to isolate the rotation.
- Grip the supports and rotate your torso to one side against the resistance.
- Contract your obliques at the end of the range without using momentum.
- Return slowly to the start, resisting the load, and repeat before switching sides.
Common mistakes
- Using body momentum instead of the obliques
- Rotating beyond the spine's comfortable range
- Lifting the hip off the seat when rotating
