Unilateral (one side at a time)
How to do it
- Place the kettlebell on the floor in front of you and grip it with one hand in a hinge position.
- With a flat back, hinge at the hips keeping the kettlebell close to your body.
- Explosively extend hips and knees, projecting the kettlebell upward close to your torso.
- Guide the kettlebell in a straight line close to your face as it rises.
- Slip your hand underneath and catch the kettlebell with your arm locked overhead.
- Lower the kettlebell in a controlled arc back to the hinge.
Common mistakes
- Letting the kettlebell bang the forearm at the top
- Starting the movement with the arm instead of the hips
- Catching the kettlebell in front instead of overhead
